Guitar and vocals
We welcome David Osborne to the Bluegrass Journeymen. David is "tried and true" Bluegrass. He has not ventured from this musical realm. His love of Bluegrass music goes back to his childhood when the instruments at hand were a worn out guitar and a hand-me-down banjo. David feels that the Bluegrass style relates to everyday people in everday situations. These feelings have led to thirty-five years in the business. David enjoys working outdoors, festivals, and reading. David lives with his wife in Madison County.
Upright bass and vocals
James is the "daddy" of the group. They follow his advice because he has been in Bluegrass "forever". James started his career at Renfro Valley and has returned to the Valley several times to play with different groups. He has branched out into the country music field but always returns to his number one love, traditional bluegrass music. His life is based on love of God and love of family. James lives in Garrard county.
Dobro
This fantastic dobro player has been all around the music genre. Jimmy has a magnificent following in the "blues" community. He is the winner of multiple awards in blues competitions and has several CDs to his credit. He became interested in our style of music a couple of years back and began to pursue dobro. We think he did it with a vengeance because he is at the top of performers at this time. Jimmy is gifted in songwriting capabilities as well. Jimmy lives in Lexington, KY with his family.
Banjo and vocals
Jack Berry handles the banjo and harmony vocals. He began playing banjo at age thirteen. He has always played the Bluegrass venues and has been with groups throughout the Kentucky and Virginia area. He is a veteran stage performer. His classic style fits our take on Bluegrass.
