ABOUT HMV Sessions
The Bluegrass Journeymen is a collective of musicians focused on expanding the worldwide footprint of bluegrass while building cross-cultural connections through music, education, and adventure. Our upcoming album “HMV Sessions” was recorded at the famed HMV Studios in Kolkata, West Bengal, India in November of 2018 at the original Bollywood recording studio and record pressing plant dating back to the early 1900’s.
We would like to thank Hugh Asa Fitzsimons III and Sarah Bailey Fitzsimons, The US Embassy India, Arjun Sagar Gupta and The Colorado Bluegrass Music Society for their continual support of this project. Special thanks to guest musicians Mandolin U Rajesh and Praveen Narayan, as well as newer Journeymen alumni River Guerguerian, Mary Lucey, Charlie Mertens, and Matt Menefee. Thank you to all of the musicians, venues, schools, educators, supporters, friends, family and collaborators that have had a hand in the continual success of this international musical outreach project. While the world may seem vast and separated at times, music unites. Music is the common language and we are grateful to repeatedly rediscover that through our journeys.
This album is dedicated to the life of Hugh Asa Fitzsimons III.
